I only gave this 3 stars out of 5 because there are some small issues that they should have fixed a long time ago and are still an issue. I hooked this up to a ceiling fan in my kitchen. I have a second fan being delivered today that I will also hook up to it. My fan is a 6 speed fan with an LED light attached. It is completely controlled by a remote, no hanging strings. This last part bothered me because I wondered how Bond would change it to the speed I wanted to without problems.
Some of the most common smart home automation systems are the ones you will probably see on the streets. These are the ones that will probably be the most important ones when you first set up your home automation system. So as we’ve mentioned before, smart home automation is the most important thing to add to your house. It’s the most important thing when you have a smart home automation system and you know that you are being taken care of.
Getting Connected Is Easy
Will ship within 5 business days of receiving cleared payment. The seller has specified an extended handling time for this item. Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods. Good review and I love Bond, but the biggest issue is with ceiling can lights. Most remotes do not support a separate on/off signal so telling Alexa to turn a light on or off may not work. Bond supports state tracking but the state is lost if someone uses a remote to turn the light on or off.
Reading the remote model, I choose the one that matched and the rest of the buttons were set up instantly! This really made it easy for setup as I didn't know how to set up half of them because the buttons were listed as buttons to set up. They added buttons for this which I will showed pictures of from the APP. After that, I attached the Bond APP to the Google Home APP so that I could control the fan with my voice. Now what I can do is specifically tell Google which speed I want my fan to be on. I can say, speed 6, it will set it to speed 6 which was my main concern.
FREE INSTALLATION
This means you can set up a timer and other actions and functions with ease and have these adjustments made automatically. It’s very simple to get everything connected and linked together. All you have to do is plug in your Bond controller and make sure it’s in scanning mode, as indicated by the blue flashing light.

If you forgot to turn off the fan when you left the house, just activate the app on your phone and you can remotely shut the fan off. But the switch to change direction is 15 feet up in the air, so you never use that feature. Newer fans have the electronics in the canopy that talks to your remote via IR or Infrared, so you don’t have to be within sight of your fan to perform a command with the remote. From the picture above, you can see the difference between RF + IR. Our old fans required us to point the remote straight at the fan or within the line of sight of the fan, that is radio waves. So far I'm very pleased with this unit for my current Hunter fan, although it remains to be seen if it will work with the newer DC fans I plan to put in my new house.

As for the dimmer, I have tried a lot of different commands but nothing works (numbers, medium, etc...). So I can control the fan speed and turn the fan and lights n and off. I need the APP or remote to change the direction or dim the lights. It isn't ideal but works enough that I won't complain too much. I am not happy with the research I found on future Bond development, because they promised for years they would provide us with features that we need but haven't come out with yet. I wanted a fan I could reverse on command, I didn't get that.

Since the Bond can record and transmit in both RF and IR signals- it’s going to be incredibly versatile and useful. NO INSTALLATION NEEDED - Set up is extremely quick and easy. Simply plug in the BOND device, download the app to your phone, point your fan remote at the BOND, and you're done! All of the functions on your remote-including fan speed, light dimmer settings, and timer using IFTTT-can now be controlled via the BOND.
Maybe you forgot your keys at the office or worse yet, you lost your keys. Or maybe your friend came but no one is at home to unlock the door. Use your fingerprint to enter home or generate a one time password to let your friend enter home. Intelligent automation and intuitive control of lighting, security, energy management and more to give you peace of mind at home or away. Sidekick is a wall-mounted, fully customizable keypad that communicates directly with your shades and works with any shade technology supported by the Bond Bridge Pro.
Many people are curious about smart home appliances. Anyone who’s ever used a smart device or appliance before can appreciate the value they bring to our busy lives. You can even control it on your PC or tablet through the IFTTT app, since Bond has its own IFTTT channel.
The fan can be turned on and off via voice command as well as the LED light. There is even a chart that allows special commands like setting the fan to hurricane force for the high setting. What doesn't work is the reverse function and the light dimming through google home. Bond's interface doesn't allow me to use voice commands or set up voice commands for the buttons they have.

Eventually, you’ll be able to control your air conditioning unit, garage doors, motorized shades -and basically, any device or appliance that has a remote control – all with your Bond controller. The future is right around the corner, and it’s coming fast. The only way to make sure your home is in the shape you want it to be, is to make sure you have the right smart home automation system on your home.

The dimming of the lights would have been nice, but I could live without. If Bond was smart, they would set up their API so google commands would access the button names which could be renamed to the chooser's desired command. I would love to say, "Hey Google, set to !" Allowing custom names would have solved this but Google integration hasn't really been implemented like it could have been. So in the end, it works enough but not the way it should.
